Hey all,
thought I'd post an update to let y'all know what I've been up to (since I've been far too quiet - apologies!). Last year was very strange in that the diversity of work I ended up doing was unbelievable but I loved tackling all the new and varied challenges!
2011 Highlights included -
• Launching
"A Midsummer Night's dream" with Classical Comics.
This was a 130 page Graphic Novel that I had been drawing and colouring with my partner
since 2009! It was great to get it finished and launched at an event.
• Illustrating a set of cards for the UFS game
Red Horizon (a big thanks goes out to Jascogames!). The set is now available to pre-order at the above link.
came up with a Blazblue/SNK-esque look for this and I really enjoyed working on it.
• Being part of the art team on the
Need For Speed : The Run "motion comic" (on Nintendo 3DS/Wii). Had to draw this in a US comic style and you can see my illustrations at the beginning of this
stage (this is the Wii version- the panels were meant to be displayed one after the other with pieces moving in 3D, but the Wii version is static and the producers laid the panels out like a comic spread. There's no 3DS footage on youtube!).
• Being asked to colour covers for
Transformers Regeneration from IDW. A massive honour to work on the continuation of stories that I read when I was a kid!
• Performing the first ever Transformers-themed DJ set at
Auto Assembly (Europe's biggest Transformer's con), mixing up samples and tunes from almost 30 years of various shows & films. I was thrilled that people liked (and danced) to it!
• Colouring the
Incredible Hulk vs Death's Head strip, drawn by
- one of the last and best strips the Marvel UK crew put out.
As for the here and now, I'm producing another UFS set (this time using the official
King of Fighters XIII license!) which I'm having a blast with!
I hope to be able to show you some of the work when the game is released.
Finally,
and I will be sketching for our charity fundraising project
Draw the World Together at the Cardiff International Comic and Animation Expo (26-27 Feb) and the MCM London Comic Con (25-27 May). Hope to see you there!
Thank you for reading and have a good day!
